I'm a little confused as to why people are so upset over the change. Shield suits have had to deal with a +20/-20 damage profile for a very long time, so why are Sentinels so upset about the -15/+15 for projectiles?

Assumed no modules to show how Standard Sentinel will perform, addition of modules will boost eHP further, obviously.
Amarr Sentinel (-5/10) Profile 1172 total eHP
(-10/10) Profile 1198 total eHP
(-15/15) Profile 1196 total eHP
(-20/20) Profile 1202 eHP
so eHP of a Standard Amarr Sentinel will actually increase with this change.
This is because its shield resists will increase by 5% more than the armor weakness increases, causing a slight net increase in overall eHP.

Kin Cat wrote:and that increase is shield based
we lose our shields often, and once we do we are screwed. plus Rattati took away the basic's high slot
our regen is off the charts terribad
And that's the exchange you make for having more low slots, when plate offer basically double the benefit to shield extenders.

Kin Cat wrote:no that's what ******* rattati did to us in hotfix charlie. we didnt ask for our high slot to be taken. the pansy ass forum meta made up of scouts asked for it
Well, you did gain a low in exchange for a high...if you want to speak strictly in terms of HP, that's actually a good deal.

A complex shield extender gives you 72.6 HP, with a 20% reduction against explosive that increases your eHP by 90.75.
A complex armor plate give you 148.5 HP, with a 20% weakness against explosives that gives you an increase of 123.75 HP.
Trading a high for a low, if using complex modules, increases your eHP by ~ 33HP in the case of taking explosive damage.

Kin Cat wrote:lol then gallente have the right to complain Except that they have a higher shield pool and lower armor making them more of a natural hybrid tank, and thus less affected by damage type since its only the difference in Armor vs Shields that actually experiences a change. Essentially the closer your armor HP and shield HP is, the less damage profile actually matters.

Shield suits have had to deal with a +20/-20 damage profile for a very long time, so why are Sentinels so upset about the -15/+15 for projectiles? My Main can only use Sentinels and this change doesn't bother me. The lowest health Amarr Sentinel I have is 450 shields & 915 Armor, just over a 2 to 1 ratio favoring armor. With the -15/+15 from -5/+10 is a 2 to 1 difference-of-change favoring shield tanking. The change makes it negligibly better at killing this Sentinel where the difference might as well be zero. On the more tanked fits the difference grows more significant. But once you're rocking 1000 to 1200 armor do you really care anymore?
Less significant that you might think. Check out the link in my signature, I do a full breakdown of all damage types against all sentinels, as well as a comparison for the potential options for the new Projectile profile.

Essentially the closer your armor HP and shield HP is, the less damage profile actually matters. well they really don't have much easier of a time against hybrid rail now that they took some of their armor away top 10 things that scare me the most in my amarr heavy
- a decent red heavy
- the above's logi
- scouts
- remotes
- any shield tanking suit
- rail rifles
- combat rifles
- shotguns
- forge guns
- sniper rifles
Again, they resist 15% of the rail damage to their armor, plus because they have 2 highs their shields also increased making the difference between armor and shields smaller, meaning that the effect of damage type is also smaller. In fact the Gallente are the strongest sentinel against Rails now with a max eHP of 1,726, followed by the Amarr at 1,708.

"joint lubricator" or something it would be called
LMAO ok thank you, 'Joint Lube' made me crack up in the middle of the office here. They're all looking at me like I'm a lunatic but that's pretty funny.
As for low slot speed mods, one module we used to have for vehicles was Nanofiber structure. Basically increased movement speed at the cost of armor. It was amazing for shield vehicles, I wish we had it still
